INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

As part of their Independence Day Celebrations, the Foundation organized a one day (11 am to 6 pm) picnic to Shri Sai Devasthana Sainagar, Wahal for the underpriviledged children on 9th August 2015.  ‘Yuvaveer’, the youth empowerment wing of the Foundation consisting of Ms.Jaishree Kannan, Ms.Bhuvaneswari Rajshekhar, Ms.Prasanna among others spearheaded the outing of about 30 underprivileged children from Nerul.  The Foundation sponsored the entire expenses of the trip which included transport and food.  The Foundation strongly believes that proper counseling and guidance given to the youth at the right time will help in channelizing their energy in constructive fields and they will become the torch-bearers of the bright future of our country.

At the venue, Acharya addressed the assembled children, in short, on the life and message of Shirdi Baba.  It was followed by a team-building workshop conducted by Mrs.Madhavi, a teacher in D Y Patil International School, Nerul.  As an ice breaking exercise, the children were engaged in creative activities like making their favourite cartoon characters.   A teen talk session was conducted by Mr.Malhar, a BE graduate wherein the children were counseled to deal with peer pressure.

After the lunch break, the venue shifted to Gorakhnathji temple, close to Sai temple.  There was a Bhajan learning session for the children conducted by Mrs.Viji, Mrs.Sai Lavanya and Mr.Satya.  All of them got swayed and lost in the beautiful bhajans to the accompaniment of harmonium, dafli and cymbals.

The final session was kept aside for the children themselves as they got a chance to showcase their talent of singing, dancing and acting in skits.  It was a wonderful experience for the students and all those who participated in the programme.  Their efforts were highly appreciated by Acharyaji and all other guests.

It is worth mentioning here that the Foundation regularly conducts interactive sessions with Acharya Vasudhaji for the children of different age groups.  As Acharyaji has also worked closely with children and adults suffering from various physical, emotional and psychological ailments, she is highly effective in helping them resolve issues like anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress, fears, lack of motivation and confidence, lack of concentration and memory and so on. “I can, I will, I must” is a  teen program that has been developed by Acharya Vasudhaji, so as to equip them to deal with their emotions, release unwanted stress and tension from their minds and build their self esteem and self worth.  Acharyaji answers in detail the questions and doubts raised by the children regarding God, religion and life.  They go back with a lot of clarityShe makes them understand that it is this richness in the value system of our country that makes our motherland the greatest among nations and no doubt India is called the spiritual capital of the world.

VANAMAALI

'VANAMAALI'   Adopt a tree - a project for planting of saplings was launched at the hands of Acharya Vasudha on 28th July on the occasion of World Environment week.  The project aims at planting trees in the Societies and Parks and create awareness about environment among the people. As the name suggests, it is not just planting a sapling, but adopting it and nurturing and helping it blossom to its maturity.

Many registrations were received on the day of Guru Purnima for this wonderful endeavour. Many people showed keen interest to plant and nurture trees in their vicinity.  As many as 37 trees were adopted by the people.
